Deepen your experience of the Advent season this year. Each week, using a Loyola Press Arts & Faith series, Arleane will share images and commentary centered on a work of art inspired by the Advent Scriptures.
We will meet by Zoom at 7:30pm starting Tuesday, November 24. Each session is likely to be about 60-75 minutes in length. No fine art knowledge or experience necessary. Each week we simply take a new look at this season of hope through an example of sacred art and how it speaks to us.
Up first, for contemplation and discussion is William Holman Hunt’s The Light of the World and Mark 13:33–37: “Therefore, keep awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or at dawn.”
